Group Exhibition At The Horton, Epsom.

The Horton Arts Centre is set to host an extraordinary art exhibition featuring the innovative works of experimental mixed media artist Rue Stanley and four exceptional local talents. Running from June 25th to July 6th, 2024, this event promises to be a vibrant celebration of diverse artistic expressions, with over 120 captivating artworks on display and available for purchase.

Every day during the exhibition at 2pm, there will be a 15-minute presentation and discussion by one of the artists covering their working practices, inspirations and what keeps them motivated to create. 

If you miss the presentation by your preferred artist. You can meet all the artists on Saturday 29th June in the afternoon.

Rue Stanley, known for her surreal and quirky acrylic mixed media creations, has curated this unique exhibition, bringing together an eclectic mix of artistic styles and perspectives. Stanley's work challenges the boundaries of traditional art, merging various media to create pieces that are both thought-provoking and visually stunning. Rue will be in the gallery every day. 

Joining Stanley are four distinguished local artists, each bringing their own distinctive flair to the exhibition:

  • Emma Champion, who specializes in cameraless photography, offering viewers a fresh and intriguing approach to photographic art. In the gallery 25th & 27th June, 2nd July.6th July. 

  • Laurence Berle, a wildlife photographer whose detailed and dynamic depiction of animals and natural scenes invite audiences into the wild. In the gallery 25th, 29th June, 3rd, 6th July. 

  • Sue Sheen, a contemporary abstract artist whose vibrant and evocative pieces explore the depths of colour, form, and emotion. In the gallery 25th,26th,4th 6th July. 

  • Lynn Toulson creates awe inspiring portraits and contemporary local landscapes. In the gallery 28th June, 29th June, 6th July.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to purchase artworks, allowing them to take home a piece of the vibrant artistic dialogue immediately.
